Ruth Elaine Ludke, 76, of Tomah, died Sunday Feb. 1, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer at Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1932, in Camp Douglas. She was united in marriage to Everett Ludke Jr. on May 31, 1952, in Camp Douglas. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1990. Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially babysitting for her grandchildren and taking family trips together. She loved music, and dancing. Her home was always welcome to anyone who needed anything.
She is survived by her 6 sons, Everett (special friend Wanda Moskow) of Oakdale, Charles (Samantha) of Warrens, Michael (Jenica) of Sparta, Peter (special friend Ann Stampful) and Larry (Virginia) both of Tomah, Richard (Karen) Hollingsworth of Tomah, 3 daughters Ruthann (James) Halverson of Camp Douglas, Jenny (Steve) Doller of Tomah, Lori Robinson of Warrens, 29 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Robert (Myrna) Bruce of Camp Douglas, and Melvin “Butch” (Judy) Bruce of Ladysmith, a sister Muriel Skinner of Sparta, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 infant grandchildren, a sister Alvina, and 3 infant brothers.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, 11 a.m. at the Open Door Baptist Church, Warrens. Pastor Mark A. Pittman will officiate. Burial will be in the Wood Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
