Helen Chambers, 74, of Camp Douglas, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2003, at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston. She was born April 6, 1929, to Albert and Jenetta (Moore) Wood.

She is survived by her husband, Basil Chambers of Camp Douglas; her mother, Jenetta Wood of Tomah; children, Basil (Kay) Chambers Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn., Steve (Samie) Chambers of Warrens, Terry (Shelley) Chambers of Missoula, Mont., a daughter, Vickie (Kevin) Blount of Valley Junction, a daughter, Dawn (Robert) Smith Jr. of Sparta and a son, Darrell (Cherryl) Chambers of Camp Douglas; grandchildren, Joel (Lisa) Chambers, Elizabeth, Andrew, John and Anna Chambers, Chad (Ambur) Chambers, Ryan and Stephanie Chambers, Roy (Elisha) Chambers, Allen (Leya) Randall, Jason Jones, Tye, Tanner and Nicolette Smith; great-grandchildren, Kassie, Cole, Layne, Therese, Clare, Nathaniel, Jubilation and Michael; one brother and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert; two brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Funeral services were Monday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor David P. Carlson officiated. Private burial took place at the Wood Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, July 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time the service at the funeral home. The Torkelson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
