Edward G. Peterson, 67, of Warrens, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2003, at his home in Warrens. He was born on Sept. 30, 1935, in Menomonie. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1957. On Oct. 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Donna Lamb in Racine.

Edward spent his working years at Sturtevant Auto Salvage in Sturtevant, Larkin's Auto in Tomah and finally at the VA Medical Center in Tomah. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making lawn ornaments, doing mechanic work and watching movies. He especially liked visiting with relatives and friends at the picnic table in his front yard. He was always there to lend a helping hand to the neighbors and the children, whether it was to fix a bike or a furnace; everyone knew they could count on him. Edward was also known for being the venison butcher around deer hunting season. He loved his family and grandchildren very much and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Warrens, sons, Rick (Michelle) Peterson of Tomah, Peter (Peggy) Peterson of Tomah and Jeffrey (Erin) Peterson of Sparta; a daughter, Tammy (Richard) Gunn of New Lisbon; a sister, Geraldine Lamb of Phoenix, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren, Dustin Peterson of Sparta, Eric Peterson of Tomah, Jordan Van Voorhees of Warrens, Richie and Storm Gunn of New Lisbon, Adam and Jimmy Radek of Tomah, Angel Gebhardt of New Lisbon Caleigh and Allyiah Peterson of Sparta; and three greatgrandchildren, Gavin, Jordan and Alisa Radek.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Schultz; his stepfather, Robert Schultz; and grandparents, Peter and Alma Peterson.

Visitation was Tuesday, June 3, from 6-8 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Burial with military honors followed in the Wood Cemetery, Valley Junction. The Torkelson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
